ABOUT

A Dedication to Craft

I believe that ordinary objects should be made with extraordinary attention to both beauty and practicality of use.
Every piece of pottery is thrown, trimmed, glazed and decorated by me in my home studio in Bath, Maine.
When I graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a degree in Art History, I knew I wanted to pursue a career as a potter. Building upon the skills I'd gained as an undergraduate, I sought out opportunities to train at pottery studios in Maine. I had the opportunity to work for Marian Baker on Little Cranberry Island, ME, where my work can still be found each summer. I also apprenticed with George Pearlman in St. George, ME.
I live with my husband, David, my children, Leo and Esther, and my tuxedo cat, Finlie, in an 1811 Federal style house in Bath, ME. When I'm not making pottery and chasing after Leo, I spend much of my time gardening and restoring our antique home.
